CIRCUS IS FOR EVERYBODY
It is an art form that is inclusive and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We love the circus for all the enrichment it has brought to our lives. Our community engagement initiatives allow us to share that love and enrichment with people and places well beyond our facilities walls.
By investing in being actively involved in the communities it broadens the horizons of all involved. Circus is a medium where we do the impossible and push the boundaries of human capabilities. When you learn circus skills it empowers you to believe the impossible is possible within yourself.
OUR MISSION
As our mission states, “We inspire passion for the Circus Arts through training, performance and community engagement.” Our Circus in the City program upholds these values through connecting communities and neighbors far and wide.
EVERYTHING OUR COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT JUGGLES
Growth Mindset: Through circus activities, we encourage children to embrace challenges and view failures as opportunities for growth. They learn that with practice and effort, they can acquire new skills, building a resilient and positive attitude.
Self-Efficacy: Circus arts provide children with a sense of accomplishment as they conquer physical challenges and master new skills. Our students learn early about accurate self-assessment, which promotes a strong sense of self and emotional resilience.
Self-Management: Our program emphasizes discipline and self-control as children practice circus skills. They learn to regulate their emotions and impulses.
Social Awareness: Circus activities foster empathy and understanding as children work closely with their peers from diverse backgrounds. They learn to appreciate differences and build stronger connections with others, enhancing their social awareness.
Our program incorporates evidence-based SEL practices, including regular mindfulness exercises, team building games, and opening/closing circles, to help children develop emotional intelligence and empathy. In addition, we collaborate with experienced educators and SEL experts to continuously improve our curriculum, ensuring that it aligns with the latest research and best practices in the field.
