CIRCUS INSTRUCTORS

 

Circus Center, the oldest and largest circus training and performing arts center on the West Coast, is constantly on the lookout for talented professionals to teach in our youth and adult training programs. We want great people with strong technical skills, a passion for teaching, and comfort working as part of a team.

 

All candidates must have:

  • An ability to teach children and adult recreational students, including aspiring professionals.
  • Comfort working as part of a team.
  • Current eligibility to work in the US (citizen, green card, work visa).

The ideal instructor is interested in regular teaching, but we may be able to accommodate candidates with performance demands.

While we always accept applications from teachers in any discipline/specialty, we are currently actively searching for the following:

 

Upper Level Aerial Silks/Spanish Web/Straps Instructor

 

The successful candidate must have:

  • Previous experience as an aerial instructor, and a background in circus ideally with skills in silks, rope, spanish web, straps and/or cloud swing. 
  • Minimum of 10 years experience.
  • Enthusiasm for teaching classes, and a high-energy, charismatic teaching style.
  • Ability to apply and execute our developed & unique conditioning curriculum grounded in the circus arts.
  • Availability of 25 - 35 hours a week. Some evenings and weekends will be essential.

 

Acrobatics/Trampoline Instructor


The successful candidate must have previous experience as an acrobatics and/or trampoline instructor.

 

Flying Trapeze Catcher or Line-Puller Instructor


The successful candidate must have previous experience as a flying trapeze instructor or performer, particularly as a catcher or line-puller. We are willing to train qualified individuals. Please apply if interested. 

 

Upper Level Contortion Instructor

 

The successful candidate must have previous experience as a contortion instructor or performer.
