As a Cirque du Soleil super fan (17+ shows and counting), he's excited to bring his professional experience to supporting the Circus Center to reach new heights.
Stuart Wong
TREASURER

Renita vinluan-fan
SECRETARY
(She/Her) Renita has been part of the greater circus community since her early days as a competitive gymnast and then an acrobat with the Waikiki Acrobatic Troupe. She went on to compete nationally in Sports Acrobatics mixed pairs category. Renita eventually transitioned her skills to collegiate level cheer & stunt. She discovered Circus Center in the mid-1990s and trained with Master Lu Yi in partner acrobatics in addition to flying trapeze. Though Renita has her roots as a student, performer, and teacher of acrobatics, Renita pursued a professional career in compensation and benefits in the consulting and software industries. After 8 years of corporate work, she returned to school to become a Nurse Practitioner. Over the past 20 years, she has cared for hospice & palliative care patients at UCSF Medical Center, the Department of Veteran Affairs Martinez/Oakland, Sutter Care at Home, and now currently at John Muir Health. Serving the community continues to be an important part of her life over the years and has volunteered at Laguna Honda Hospital, Special Olympics gymnastics, and then serving on the non-profit boards for the East Bay Hospice Veteran Partnership, Hospice Palliative Nursing Association SF Bay Area Chapter, and Amigos International East Bay Chapter. Circus life has come full circle now that Renita’s daughter trains in circus arts under Master Lu Yi’s former students-turned-coaches. Renita most appreciates how circus embraces a sense of community combined with performance art and athleticism.
DOMINIQUE JANDO
(He/him) Dominique Jando began his involvement with the performing arts more than five decades ago in his native France, when he first stepped into a circus ring as a clown at the legendary Cirque Medrano in Paris. Later he pursued an artistic and administrative career in both the theater and the circus. In 1974, as General Secretary of the Paris Cultural Center, he participated with Alexis Gruss in the creation of France’s first professional circus school, and of Le Cirque à l’Ancienne, which eventually became the French National Circus and is considered the catalyst of the European ‘New Circus’ movement. He came to New York in 1983 to join the Big Apple Circus, and served as its Associate Artistic Director for the following twenty years. He then moved to San Francisco to work as Creative Director of Circus Center. Now an independent circus arts consultant and a writer, he is the Founder and Curator of Circopedia.org, an international online circus encyclopedia. He is also Vice-President and Artistic Director of Lone Star Circus in Dallas, Texas, and serves on the Board of Circus Bella in San Francisco. A circus and popular entertainment historian, Dominique has published several books and written numerous articles on these subjects, both in Europe and the US. He is a founding member of the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain, an international circus competition that has been held each winter in Paris since 1977, and he has served on the juries of international circus festivals in Europe, Russia, Mexico, and Israel. Dominique is the recipient of the 2016 “Elevate Circus” award. He is married to the award-winning trapeze artist and aerial arts coach Elena Panova.
DEVIN HENDERSON
(He/him)
Devin Henderson began his circus adventure at the Circus Center in San Francisco, where he trained from an early age in the youth circus under master trainer LuYi and discovered a passion for performance, physicality, and community. Those formative years instilled in him the artistry, discipline, and resilience that would shape his path forward.
Building on that foundation, Devin went on to pursue a professional circus career, performing nationally and internationally with companies like Cirque du Soleil and The 7 Fingers. Along the way, he collaborated with remarkable artists, refined his craft, and carried Circus Center’s spirit with him everywhere he went. He finished his performing career by kickstarting and staring in one of the most popular shows in San Francisco "Dear San Francisco" at Club Fugazi in North Beach
Today, Devin serves as a firefighter for the San Francisco Fire Department. Though vastly different in setting, his work as a firefighter is rooted in many of the same values he learned through circus: courage, teamwork, discipline, and dedication to others.
Now returning to Circus Center in a new role, Devin is honored and excited to join the Board of Directors. For him, it is both a homecoming and an opportunity to give back to the place that launched his career. He looks forward to helping support Circus Center’s mission, nurture the next generation of artists, and ensure the community continues to thrive.
JOULES JETSON
(They/them) Joules grew up doing gymnastics in the Midwest and has been committed to sharing the joy of movement with others ever since. They’ve been a gymnastics coach and tumbling instructor at a number of gyms throughout the Bay Area, and they have also held roles in customer support, project management, operations, and administration at companies innovating at the intersection of tech and fitness. Joules found Circus Center in 2023 and has enjoyed applying their acrobatic skills towards learning new (to them) circus disciplines like Chinese Pole and partner acrobatics. As part of the Circus Center board, Joules is excited to share their unique perspective and support the vibrant Circus Center community.
WILLIAM MAIMONE
(He/him) Bill Maimone joins the Circus Center BOD after a 45-year professional career in database, analytics and financial planning software. Since retiring he’s taken volunteer roles including ocean phytoplankton monitoring for NOAA, as an emergency preparedness community organizer, and with the MIT Processor Database team analyzing data center energy consumption. Though no longer addicted to trapeze, Bill gets his adrenaline fix with skiing, scuba diving and triathlon competition. Bill’s family were first lured into circus arts at Club Med, and have participated in numerous shows on flying trapeze, aerial silks and contortion. Bill and daughter Juila both were competitive gymnasts, and Julia trained, performed and taught contortion for several years under Serchmaa. Daughter Marissa performed aerial silks at various SF locations. Bill trained trapeze mainly at Trapeze Arts in Oakland, and also found rigs during business travel to New York, Seattle and Montreal. And the family count of Cirque du Soleil shows attended is just a few short of Board member Stuart.
